Social Media Week Bangalore’16 –  FAQ

What is Social Media Week (SMWi)?

Social Media Week is a global confluence of entrepreneurs, industry leaders, influencers and enthusiasts who are driven, affected and steer the social media and tech space. It is a platform where the like-minded share thoughts and discuss how social media is shaping global lifestyles and businesses.

What exactly happens at a SMWi event?

A technologically savvy and socially integrated community comes together to discuss the present and future of social media across different industries.  Experts share unique insights and predications through panel discussions, interactive speaker meets, presentations and debates.

Every SMWi has a global theme, this time it is – ‘The Invisible Hand: Hidden Forces of Technology (and how we can Harness it for Good)’

When and Where?

SMWi Bangalore’16 is taking place on 9th and 10th of June at the Leela Palace. This is followed by events in Nairobi and Bristol. Keep a lookout for global events here.

Why should I be there?

Three simple reasons.

Learn – The latest tools, tips and techniques of virtual media. Grasp on the impending trends of relevant industries from those who have been through it all.

Share – Your thoughts and opinions with the panel and fellow attendees. Make the most of bilateral learning. Speak!

Network – With people from the same or complementary industry and build your network. Lay the groundwork for future business associations or if you simply seek a mentor!

Whether you are starting-up, studying or working for a brand, Virtual Media is a crucial aspect in your field.

I cannot make it for ALL sessions, any recommendations?

Time is a constraint and making it to all sessions might be a challenge. Plan ahead and be there on time for those most relevant to you.

In my opinion the 4 must attend events are:

  • Brand Building through story telling – Prahalad Kakkar (9th)
  • The next thing in Social Media : People Intelligence – Amarpreet  Kalkat (9th)
  •  Is Social Media A Viable Platform For Start-ups To Build Their Brand? – Panel (10th)
  • How Business In India Can Use Snapchat To Create An Impact – Ahmed Aftab Naqvi (10th)

But you could always take a call depending on your interests. Check out the agenda here.
